About Me!

I’m Kathryn Courtney, a comedian, writer, creative director, producer, and aspiring bread maker. I am a 21 year old, nonbinary person who uses she / they pronouns, currently based in Chicago, Illinois.

I grew up in Austin and San Antonio, Texas. At 9 years old, I feel in love with performing, and I’ve been doing it ever since. After studying musical theatre at The North East School of the Arts (NESA), I moved to Chicago, Illinois for college. While in Chicago, I attended The Theatre School at DePaul University where I studied Comedy Arts. My time in school taught me that the thing I value most is radical empathy and unbridled laughter!

The work I make centers around high emotions, lovable characters, and whacky situations. My goals are to make work that allows people to feel without shame or fear, and to uplift queer and femme voices in comedy. Silliness is a gift, and it’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve been given. Let’s make comedy happen!
